Turkish Salep 170gr.
Salep is a traditional drink widely consumed in Turkey. Hafiz Mustafa Salep is sold ready-made as a powder; it has a very mild, creamy flavor, while versions with cinnamon powder are a bit more exciting. You can mix it with cold water or milk and boil until it solidifies. Salep is obtained from the roots of orchids, which are rare in Turkey.
When the orchids bloom, they are harvested, and the tubers are collected. The collected tubers are washed and cleaned thoroughly. Then they are strung on a string and boiled with water or milk. After boiling, they are left to dry. After drying, the tubers are pounded and turned into powdered salep. On average, 1 kg of powdered salep is obtained from 1000 salep tubers.
