Hafiz Mustafa Arrives at Souk Madinat Jumeirah
A new aroma courses through Souk Madinat Jumeirah’s atmospheric corridors. It’s the scent of pistachio-laced baklava, a sweet counterpoint to the familiar fragrances of oud and spice. Legendary Turkish confectionery Hafiz Mustafa officially opened its 5th UAE branch with a warm, celebratory ceremony earlier this week—a sweet, sweet addition.
The move feels completely natural. You know, some partnerships click from the start. This one feels like it has always belonged here, waiting for the right moment to materialize.
Taste and Place Union
Hafiz Mustafa finds its new home in a cultural and traditional venue. Souk Madinat is a cultural landmark, a lively space for accomplished artists, creative studios, and culinary concepts. It is a stage for authenticity—a place for real things.
Now, a confectioner with a story that began in 1864 joins this milieu. Hafiz Mustafa’s concept appears to be directly aligned with Emirati values: a deep love for hospitality and a particular charm in presentation. It could’ve been a simple commercial decision—a business plan on paper. Then again, the best moves have a little spirit inside them.
Here, in a community grounded in history and customs, we are pleased to welcome visitors. In addition to being a great place to shop, Souk Madinat is also a cultural icon because it houses unique and traditional cuisine concepts as well as the work of outstanding artists. Hafiz Mustafa and Emirati culture have long shared an authenticity and hospitality sense. We’ve come here to make things sweeter.”

The Sweet Philosophy
Eren Ongurlar, a Hafiz Mustafa board member, shared his thoughts at the launch. The way the brand’s character relates to local traditions was something he spoke about with genuine delight and passion. His enthusiasm for making connections in a culturally rich environment comes through in his comments.
He sees Souk Madinat as a hub for creativity and heritage, where Hafiz Mustafa’s history fits right in. The confectioner’s arrival, he suggested, was meant to make life in the city a little sweeter. A real purpose. A true one. He believes the shared values of hospitality and authenticity create a powerful common ground. Feels obvious.
A Legacy in Every Bite
Walk inside, and the world outside seems to pause. You are greeted by artisan-made Turkish delights, traditional puddings, and Turkish baklava, which seems to glitter under the lights. What does authentic Turkish delight truly taste like? You find out here. The choice is the hard part. Over a century and a half of practice informs these recipes. This is where the confectioner’s history becomes tangible. It’s in the lokum’s texture, the pastry’s crispness, and the rich, complex sweetness that follows. An exceptional history. A street-level aroma. The combination works.
