Hafız Mustafa 1864 Honored at UK Family Business Event in Parliament
London Recognition for the 162-Year Turkish Confectionery House
Hafız Mustafa 1864, one of Türkiye’s most respected names in traditional desserts and confectionery, received the “Legacy Honor – Cultural Heritage Pride” recognition during a family business event held in the British Parliament setting in London.
The Vice Chairman of Hafız Mustafa 1864, Emre Ongurlar, received an honor from British MP Matt Vickers at the Thames Pavilion. The event gathered MPs, members of the House of Lords, and senior names from the British business community.
Family-owned businesses that strengthen the UK’s economy, cultural landscape, and international trade were honored.
We believe Hafız Mustafa 1864 has entered a new phase of its international story. We’ve taken on a greater duty as cultural ambassadors of Turkish dessert heritage, sharing its legacy globally in line with our growth.

Knightsbridge Growth and Global Ambition
Emre Ongurlar mentioned that the Knightsbridge branch in London is essential for Hafız Mustafa 1864’s international expansion plans.
“We opened our London branch in Knightsbridge two years ago after five years of preparation, factory investment, and the creation of more than 100 jobs,” Ongurlar said. The keen interest from British visitors in Turkish desserts is a source of great pride for us.
Hafız Mustafa, founded in 1864, now operates 25 branches worldwide. London was chosen as the company’s next international base, after Dubai, from a list of potential cities including Paris, New York, Barcelona, and Vienna.
A major reason for the decision was London’s position as one of the world’s best culinary cities. Because of the long-standing friendship between Türkiye and the United Kingdom, the choice held special importance.
Ahmet H. Demir, Global Markets Managing Director and Türkiye Director of Operations, was present at the ceremony and stated that the recognition was an important milestone for the company’s global strategy.
“Hafız Mustafa 1864 carries a heritage built over generations,” Demir said. “Receiving this honor in London gives our team fresh energy as we grow in global markets. Guests in the UK have welcomed our confectionery, service, and story. It strengthens our belief in London and in the wider future of Turkish dessert culture abroad.”
